Festive Celebrations @ The Sun

This year it’s time to party! From private hire & large events in our Gin Library to cosy dinners by the roaring fire in the main pub, we are here to make the holiday period truly magical. Whether you’re organising a work party or a great night out with family & friends, The Sun is the perfect place for all your celebrations.

Christmas Set Menu
There is something for everyone on our Christmas Set Menu. We have kept our price the same as last year with 3 courses for £38. With everyone watching their ££ we are also offering a special reduced-price menu with a sharing festive bread board to start, main & dessert for £32. Our Christmas Set Menu is pre-order only with a deposit required to confirm your booking, available Monday – Saturday with Sundays as always all about our festive roast.

Christmas Party Menu
Our party menu is filled with bite-sized delights, perfect for any standing celebration. We can host Christmas parties for large groups catering for anything from 12-80 people. Book any of the following areas for your party: The Sun Lounge (12-15 people), Decking (18-20 people), Roof Terrace (30-40 people), Gin Library (60-80 people).

The Christmas Fair is back on Wednesday 6th December – Buy Less, Buy Better, Buy Handmade – join us under the fairy lights of the stretch tent, shop small & shop local for decorations, food, candles, jewellery, gifts & the best stocking fillers. With Mulled Sloe Gin, Cider or Wine to keep you warm we will be embracing all things festive.

Winter Wreath Workshops with Frankie Lane Flowers will take place on Monday 4th & Monday 11th December in The Gin Library. The perfect evening to let your creativity run wild! You will learn how to create your wreath from scratch using natural & seasonal materials. With a delicious glass of mulled wine & mince pie on arrival.  more info

Festive OAP Lunch
We offer a free 3 course OAP lunch for people aged 70+ every month at The Sun. At our special festive OAP lunch on Monday 11th December, we give everyone a little present to take home & open from all us at The Sun. If you would like to contribute small donations for presents are being collected at the bar.

The Sun Gift Card
If you are starting to hunt for the perfect present, why not give the gift of the pub this Christmas? The Sun Gift Card can be for any amount & can be used for lunch, dinner or simply a couple of pints. Go on treat someone special and give them time out in their favourite local this Christmas.

All our weekly specials will run through to week ending 10th December allowing us to focus on all things festive in the run up to Christmas. We will as usual be closed on Christmas Day to give our fantastic team a day off with their friends/family & for 3 days from Tuesday 2nd January – Thursday 4th January for our annual team break.
